Civil Honours

Meritorious actions for which Gallantry Awards were or were not presented

 

1933  Bill Hancock and Dan Thomas. A rescue of a mother and daughter from Widcombe lock.

21/1/1935 –  R A Gerrard rescued a boy from the river at Batheaston.

7/12/1942 – H D (Dai) Rees awarded BEM for action during Bath Blitz.

 

Steve Hall (son of Peter and brother of Jon), Old Edwardians R.F.C., dramatic rescue of a canoeist from Pulteney Weir.

Roger Spurrell’s attempted rescue, again at the weir. (This last one could not be revived)
