Career details: Played cricket for Bath Cricket Club and for Somerset CC from 1929 to 1953 making 304 first class appearances. When his first class cricket ended he took up a post at King Edward VII School in Johannesburg coaching cricket. One of his pupils was the South African International cricketer Ali Bacher.

Bertie was a talented all-round sportsman playing snooker and table tennis.
