Education: Oldfield Council School and Bath City Secondary School.



Debut game: 11th January 1930 v Devonport Services

Final game: 10th February 1940 v Somerset Police

Number of Appearances: 128

Career details: Played cricket for Bath Cricket Club and for Somerset CC from 1929 to 1953 making 304 first class appearances. When his first class cricket ended he took up a post at King Edward VII School in Johannesburg coaching cricket. One of his pupils was the South African International cricketer Ali Bacher.

Bertie was a talented all-round sportsman playing snooker and table tennis.
