Career details:

Mervyn played his first rugby with Avonmouth Old Boys Club. After the First World War he gained his place in the Bristol team and played over 295 games for them. He was Vice-captain for 5 years and Captain in the 1928-29 season. – he knew the game from A-Z – and was always ready to impart his knowledge.

In season 1929-30 he threw in his lot with Bath and in his first season played in 35 games.

Mervyn was one of the great strategists of the rugby football game
