Career details:

Will James joined the Bath Youth set up in 1994 from Plymouth Albion and played three matches during a two-year association with the club. The lock forward made his Bath Rugby debut against the Army on the 19th March 1996 at the Recreation Ground in a match that Bath lost 16-27. His form was good though and he impressed enough in the Academy ranks to be voted as Bath Youth’s Most Promising Player at the end of the 1995/1996 season. An England under-16’s and England Colts international, Will played in two further matches in the professional era. He partnered Nigel Redman in the second row in a 10-10 draw with Llanelli in an Anglo-Welsh Cup tie in October 1996 and was to play his last game for the first team as a replacement for Redman in a 71-20 win over Wakefield in December of the same year. Bath loaned him out to Moseley at the end of the season and he never pulled on the Bath shirt in anger again, going on to join Pontypridd, before a second spell at Plymouth Albion and a stint with Penzance & Newlyn. Will went on to play for cardiff Blues and Gloucester. He also took up coaching having a spell at Yatton RFC.
