Career details:

Only a few players have donned the colours of both Newcastle Falcons and Bath Rugby, one being winger Michael Wood. Ironically, Wood made his Bath Rugby debut in August 1997 in an Allied Dunbar Premiership clash with Newcastle Falcons at the Rec. The newly promoted Falcons surprised an injury ravaged Bath outfit and won the match 20pts-13pts on their way to title success. He went on to make two further appearances for the club; both in the Heineken European Cup, against Pontypridd (as a replacement at Sardis Road) and in the comfortable 31pts-13pts away win at Scottish Borders. With the return of regular wingers Jon Sleightholme, Ieuan Evans and Adedayo Adebayo after injury, Wood found his chances limited and transferred to West Hartlepool. From there he had a spell with Newcastle before signing for Rotherham and playing in the Premiership for the Yorkshire based side. Michael gained early representative honours England U18s, England U21s and the North Colts and Senior XVs
