Jamie Williams joined Bath Rugby on a short-term contract at a time when there were numerous threequarters injured whilst the 2003 Rugby World Cup was running. Formerly with NEC Harlequins, and having represented his country at England 7s and ‘A’ level, Williams signed for Bristol Shoguns and was unlucky during his spell with the club that injury prevented him from claiming a more regular berth in the Shoguns starting line up. Williams’ claimed a try in pre-season for Bath United as they saw off the challenge of Keynsham 31pts-0pts. He was called up for the first game of the season making his league debut for the club as a replacement for Lee Best in the opening day victory at Leeds. His last appearance for the club was in the 42pts-13pts Powergen Cup victory over Northampton Saints at the Rec. before he was released when his contract expired.
