Born: Bath 17th July 1871.

He played for the old Argyle Club 1890-92 and was their Hon Secretary from 1894 to1896.He became a Bath member in 1893 ( when the club played at Henrietta Park) and was elected to the Executive and Selection Committees in 1895. From1895 to 1905 he acted as Team Manager and Touch Judge for Bath ‘A’s and was Team-Secretary of Bath Extras from the time of its formation. He was one of the originators of the Bath Combination in 1902 and their Honorary Secretary from 1921 to 1935.. He helped form the Bath and District Rugby Referees’ Society in 1903, passed the referees’ examination, and eventually became it’s Vice Chairman. He served for several years on the Bath Schools Rugby Union and was Hon. Secretary of Bath Rugby Juniors 1913-1915. He was Hon. Secretary and  Hon. Treasurer of the Bath and District Insurance Fund.

Tommy gave a lifetime of service to the game the Bath Club in particular  all the local clubs in general. He was a mine of information regarding players and kept an amazing record of the clubs activities over the years. It is from his scrap books that much of the history of the club has been obtained and the compilers of the Centenary Handbook owed him a great debt of gratitude for his remarkable work which he described as “his hobby”. Tommy lived to the age of 92 and was rarely absent from the Rec for some 70years.
