Gained a place in the St Brendans College rugby XV

On returning to Bath he joined the Bath Club and has the distinction of being one of the original members of the Bath Extras XV on its formation. After 2 years in the Extras Jack gained a place in the A’s and played for the 1st XV in 1928

He gained his Bath cap in the 1929-30 season

Jack was a tall and fast forward of good physique and one of the beat scrummagers in the Bath Club

Always in the thick of it and working 100% in the tight he was rarely in the limelight with the result that his splendid qualities were better known by his fellow forwards than the casual onlooker.

Jack also enjoyed rowing with the Avon Rowing Club
